Love this photo: sandwich in one hand, coke in the other. Makes me wish I wasn't gluten intolerant.

Sarah Jessica Parker looking adorable

A photo of the amazing Sarah Jessica Parker from a conference in Taiwan on the 22nd looking AMAZING. I absolutely love her hair at the moment. So much better than the Sex and the City season 2-3 poker straight look.

Thanks Amy...

As simple as this...

Hair

So I've been thinking lately that I wanted to get some highlights and maybe take my hair a bit lighter, as it's pretty bleached out by the sun at the moment. However, after seeing this photo..... kind of loving the dark look. Also doesn't Jessica Biel look STUNNING. Love everything the outfit, the hair, the makeup.

More Karim Sadli, but not creepy this time

Just by way of a comparator this another editorial shot by Karim Sadli for the April 2011 issue of ID Magazine, the editorial is called 'Shine' and features the effervescent Malgosia Bela.

I adore the color palette and it is obviously similar to the last post (his editorial in the fall/ winter 2010 issue of Candy Magazine). The similarity is interesting due in part to the fact that a year separates these two editorials but also because this is again VERY Camilla Akrans esque (and not in a bad way). While the palette may remind me of her there is far more tension in his shots and I think it makes them slightly more interesting in terms of the actual presence of the clothing (which I feel sometimes gets forgotten with the prevalence of nudity, or at least semi nudity in most current editorials.... lest we forget it's really the clothes we want to see!).

I also feel like I can see some of the influence of his background with mostly male editorials in the posing. Malgosia does not appear overtly feminine in her posing but there's a quiet confidence in the body language and an almost rogueish dissonance to the clothing modelled, which considering it's almost hyper femininity contributes to the tension within the shots.

Again, I would love to see him do some more work with female models. I also am a HUGE fan of the styling which is courtesy of Marc Lopez.

Anyone else super creeped out by this editorial....?

Sooooo maybe I'm just not cool enough, not down with the kids enough, not hip enough (alright pretty sure using the word hip just confirms that I am NOT hip) but this editorial just freaks me out. I know that we're all supposed to be embracing androgyny right now... women who are so skinny they look like men, men who are so skinny they look like women (the irony is not lost on me) but this is just plain creepy....

So this editorial was shot by Karim Sadli and was featured in the fall/ winter 2010 issue of Candy Magazine. The models are Gabriel Gronvik, Sylvester Henriksen and Andrej Pajic (and yes just to be super clear.... they are all men). I thought that it was interesting that they Karim him for the shoot because he shoots men almost exclusively yet he was able to bring such a feminine, almost gamine, quality to the shoot. Although I have to say this concept makes me feel slightly like the fashion world has gone a bit mad that's not a reflection on him but rather on Candy Magazine (let us not forget this was the mag that put James Franco on the October 2010 cover dressed in drag) which is pretty out there to begin with. This editorial, although not really being up my alley concept wise, makes me REALLY want to see Karim work with some female models. I see a very soft Camilla Akrans esque quality to this editorial which I would LOVE to see more of.

How Sweet It Is....

Paul Weller and Lauren Pritchard sing 'How Sweet It Is' live, love, love, love his version. James Taylor may be amazing but on this tune I think Mr. Weller has him beat!

And to accompany it we have another Richard Burbridge shot (LOVING him today) for Vogue Italia from the May 2011 editorial 'Makeup: Deep Impact'

Beauty in Vogue

A fabulous cover shot by Richard Burbridge for the April 2011 cover of Vogue Italia Beauty. The shot (and entire editorial) features Magdalena Frackowiak.
Love the 60s feel and the texture.

A very mini Kate, and the Queen, check out her dress at Buckingham Palace

Today a VERY tiny looking Kate, accompanied by the Queen, went to check out her dress at Buckingham Palace..... obviously in the event that she had forgotten what it looked like..... So I would be lying if I didn't say I was SUPER excited to see it too.... but obviously I didn't wear it and help design it..... Apparently the Queen was aghast that the mannequin was headless, perhaps a reminder of what could happen to the monarchy if Charles was ever made King.... Regardless both looked very regal and Kate (tiny as never before) looked absolutely lovely. I am intrigued though as to how the smaller she gets the larger her breasts seem to get.... why does that never happen to me?!

One Day- I will punch Anne Hathaway in the mouth

So I just finished the novel 'One Day' by David Nicholls which was AMAZING. Absolutely adored it. Won't lie parts of it were maddening and I wasn't sure how I felt about it but by the end all of the angst and anxiety I felt over the relationship between these two intriguing people was more than worth it. Definitely something I would read again. HOWEVER this post is not about the book. There will definitely be another post extolling its virtues but at this point in time I am frothing was such hatred that I need to immediately address the issue which has been causing me such grief- Anne Hathaway and her insidious face.

The only bad bit about the book was that every time I picked it up I had to see Anne Hathaway's name on the front cover and be confronted that she would be playing the beloved Emma.....

So let's get it out.

I hate Anne Hathaway. I want to punch her in the mouth. I don't feel bad about this because it is my opinion that her mouth (and in fact her entire face) begets punching. I think perhaps I can trace my desire to do her harm to the moment that she didn't get out of the car in 'The Devil Wears Prada'. I realize that she was acting but it just seemed like such an Anne Hathaway thing to do, to get all uppity and self important. To get a job at a fashion magazine and then moan about the obvious implications of that kind of work environment. She strikes me as the kind of girl that in high school had frizzy hair and spent all day sitting around talking about issues that were so far beyond that tiny head (more full of frizz than brain) like politics and international affairs... rather than clearly more immediately pressing (and comprehensible) issues, like where to get a good blow out. I also imagine that she's the kind of person who claims to be a vegetarian but eats chicken 'because there are so many and they are gross looking', the kind of people pleaser who tries so hard to make you like her that.... well you just want to punch her in the mouth (ie. her hosting gig at this years Oscars). I imagine that she's the kind of girl whose mom made her do hip hop so she would have more fun at school dances (and generally cooler) and she went to class and thought she was great and soooooo street.... but never could figure out how to roll her hips. I imagine she wears natural deodorant and smells ever so slightly as a result. I imagine that she has an aversion to bikini waxes and shaves her legs on an irregular basis. I imagine she says she wants to age with grace and never resort to plastic surgery.... even though grace is a word that applies to absolutely nothing she does. I imagine she was so awkward in high school that she couldn't even cross her legs properly when sitting down. I imagine she thought that braces and glasses were slightly cool and that she wore brightly colored clothes and stank of incense. In conclusion, I dislike everything I know about her and everything I assume about her.

But most of all now I dislike that she will be playing Emma. I feel like my beloved character is suffering a literary rape, a bastardization of everything she is at Anne's paws.... her clammy, faux vegetarian, poorly maintained paws. In fact the very idea of Anne Hathaway trying to do a Yorkshire accent makes me want to punch a baby.

Amanda Seyfriend- haircut= SHOCK!

So I spend a few days shunning the internet (or as I like to think of it- civilization) in favor of a business associations paper and I return only to discover that Amanda Seyfriend has cut her hair. I'm actually deeply saddened by this turn of events. I can actually feel my girl crush dissipating....

Another productive day for Pippa Middleton

A run than errands.... SHOCK

I would rather be flat than.....

Mother and Daughter ...

Top picture Yasmin Le Bon (Simons Le Bon Wife) and below Amber Le Bon (Simons and Yasmins Le Bon daughter). In Portuguese ("Tal Mae , tal Filha").

Sometimes one can not go for the U Turn...

News in Daily Online (20 September 2007)

He's been married to a supermodel for 22 years, but Simon Le Bon clearly still enjoys being surrounded by gorgeous women as he films a new video. Once the pop world's biggest pin-up, the front man of eighties supergroup Duran Duran was clearly reliving his youth as he spent most of his time on a video shoot flitting from one gorgeous model to the next.

TETRIS a hell of a Game...

Tetris (en ruso: Тетрис) es un videojuego de puzle inventado por el ruso Alekséi Pázhitnov el 6 de junio de 1984[1] cuando estaba trabajando en la Academia de Ciencias de Moscú. The sounds of studying..... and Jessica Stam

So for some reason the above photos made me SUPER happy (I think I might be delerious from staring at m screen for HOURS); HOWEVER, I wanted to share these tunes that kept me grinding along for the last few hours with you and for some reason I thought that these photos (with the amazeballs Jessica Stam) would be the perfect accompanyment. Enjoy the sounds of Jack Beats! (I definitely did).

(I apologize for Annie Mac's voiceovers but how bomb is it?!)

and next we have La Roux remixed..... because I'm not your toy!
