So while this week marked a sartorial high for Pippa Middleton, it disappointingly did not for Kate. A fact I am so saddened by that I have put off posting about it. I just don't like the cut, I hate the neckline, I detest the sleeves, I abhore the belt, I don't like the color- I don't think it's nice on her and I don't think it would be nice off her. I just don't like it.

Daily dose of Duchess
Today Kate took on her first military role as a royal, handing out medals to members of the Irish guards who had recently returned from serving in Afghanistan.
The Duke of Cambridge (aka. Prince Willy) is the Colonel of the Irish guards and Kate stated that she was very pleased to be undertaking a role for a regiment "so close to her husband's heart."
Kate wore a navy military style dress which has been reported to be Burberry Prorsum.... although I did not see it in the fall runway collection HOWEVER I would be exceedingly pleased if it was as this would represent the first time (in my memory) that Kate has worn something (I would be willing to wager at least in the last year) before it was available to the public. The dress was adorned with a gold shamrock which was on loan to her from the regiment, which has been worn by both the Queen Mother and Princess Anne. I am particularly in love with her hat which was just too fitting and adorable for words, as well as her clutch (got to hand it to the girl, although I might despise her taste in handbags- her taste in clutches is beyond reproach!).

Prince William and Kate release an official portrait for their upcoming tour
Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge (Kate Middleton!) have released an official portrait for their tour of the United States and Canada. It was taken earlier this month in the gardens of Clarence House and it has made me VERY happy.
This skirt suit in one of my FAVORITE Kate looks of all time and I'm glad to see her choosing to recycle it (I also get immense pleasure from the fact that it looks like she did her hair herself!). You may remember that she previously wore is at the couple's final pre wedding public appearance in Lancashire.

Kate at the Trooping of the Colour
WINNER OF THE WEEK!
The hat is AMAZING!
The coat is die DIE FOR! Honestly the cut, the color- its all good stuff. I haven't heard where it's from BUT I would be willing to bank Alexander McQueen. The fact that we haven't heard anything yet (this is the 15th of June now that I am writing this) lends credence to that fact as they are always SUPER quick to release when she wears a high street piece.
The hair- possibly my favorite yet.
The teeth- let's not lie, they've been lightened and it's a good look.
The shoes- I want to see them, desperately!

Kate Middleton and Prince William at the 10th annual Absolute Return for Kids (ARK) Gala Dinner at Kensington Palace
So Kate made my day again for the second time this week (honestly thus far the high points of an otherwise pretty disastrous week) wearing a Jenny Packham gown and L.K. Bennett shoes... and she looked STUNNING.
Check it out below...
Ahhhhhhh!!!!!! Amazing! Check out her hair on the right. Could it be any more PERFECT! Check out those bouncy curls. I'm obsessed. Probably the nicest I think her hair has ever looked.
Her arms look slightly bigger here. I won't lie, it makes me feel a lot better about my own 'guns'! P.s. I'm willing to put some good money on the fact that those teeth have been seriously whitened, and they look awesome!
Pleeease! Can she wear some more pastels! This is her hitting her stride- for sure!

Kate Middleton at the Epsom Derby
HURRAH! This has literally made my weekend. Thank you Kate for not only FINALLY making another appearance but for flashing some much needed thigh and wearing some sexy shoes. This is what I have been waiting for with baited breath. Now only to find out where that adorable jacket and skirt are from! It looks like she's been branching out. I'd put money on those being Jimmy Choos!

Be Still My Beating Heart: Kate Middleton performs her first royal duty TODAY!
Today Prince William and the ♥ of my life (aka. Kate/ Catherine Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge) welcomed Barack and Michelle Obama to Buckingham Palace, in a a ten minute private meeting between the two couples. Representing, their first official duty as a royal couple and only the third state visit by a U.S. president to the U.K. in 100 years.
The royal couple were fresh from their Seychelles honeymoon. Apparently the (very well tanned) Duchess performed her duties very well. Regardless, commentators immediately picked up on her incredibly slim figure. In one of my prior posts about Kate 'the great!' I mused over the question of whether the weight lose was strictly for the purposes of looking fabulous in that dress or whether she would keep it up upon her return for her honeymoon. I hadn't even considered the prospect of her losing further weight, which the pictures clearly illustrate as having happened. As much as I ♥ a good skinny minny I can't deny that Kate Middleton's current weight loss is worrisome. It is totally out of character. Her weight has NEVER plummeted this low, even during her last great weight loss (when she and Wills split for several months in 2007) and despite her lifelong commitment to athletics and health. It was said that the Royal family would be providing her with psychiatric support and counseling to aid in her change in position and to help her cope, also hopefully avoiding her from falling into the problems that befell Diana after her wedding (reportedly bulimia, self harm and depression). It is worrying that she is already following in Diana's footsteps when it comes to the extreme loss of weight immediately before the wedding and continuing after. For the sake of the monarchy, for the benefit of this young and lovely girl and for the sake of girl's everywhere who dream of becoming a princess we should hope that she (and those around her) begins to take better care of her body.
