So usually Gossip Girl style is like my dream of dreams. It almost never ceases to make my day..... I say almost because today it did.... because today I saw this photo of Leighton Meester filming in Manhattan and I was suitably appalled. Apparently Eric Damon (Gossip Girl stylist and my own personal obsession) took some major inspiration from Violet Beauregard, hopefully some of you will remember her as the little brat in Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory who blows too much bubble gum and turns into a large bubble herself (for those who don't I have included a helpful diagram - thanks to google- below). I don't know what is going on with Blair at the moment (thanks to horrible Nigerian internet I am unable to favorite my favorite gang, since the Hardy Boys' exploits, until I return at the end of November. Can you say Gossip Girl marathon much?!) I am guessing her story line must continue to spell trouble.... why else would she EVER wear this?!

Leighton Meester: Street Style
So as you all may know the love I have for Blair Waldorf is only equalled by the love I hold for Leighton Meester. I love her red carpet style, her street style- even her performance style. Basically her style is f*in IMPECCABLE. She's also brunette and adorable. What more could a girl want.
Most importantly, as some as you may know from my post on her red carpet fashion style, this girl has GREAT taste in shoes and what I love best about her is that her shoe love is not just contained to the evening. Like any good love affair it is a 24/7 situation. She is as likely to rock four inch heels on her way to the bodega as she is on her way to a premiere BUT unlike some of our fairer haired GG friends her shoes are never the standard Louboutin fare- they are always different and dynamic, just like Leighton's style generally.
I need, NEED, NEED, neeeeed a red bag! Why must all these actresses and models taunt me so with theirs?! I feel like the red purse is THE accessory to have for 2012. Although I might be slightly biased as I desperately need to validate my urge to purchase yet another purse.
Such a funky way to dress down Louboutins.
I adore her hair when it's long. I just wish it was a biiiiit less red.
Again too red.
love, love, love
Chuck and Blair 2.0....
So when I saw these opening ceremony platforms I was intrigued but also baffled.... could they really be translated to the street in a NON punk manner- Leighton shows us that they can be!
Love, love, LOVE this.
Nooooo not the red purse! Stop the torture. Honestly love it so much it hurts- a bit.
I've been SO on the fence about this Louis Vuitton scarf.... for like the LAST two seasons BUUUUUT seeing Leighton rock it makes me like it a HELL of a lot better!
Another item I was on the fence about- these mulberry booties. Not going to lie I'm noooot in luuurve with them BUUUUUT she does make me like them more.
Another favorite of Leighton's that I am obsessed with- the Chloe bag. Too beautiful.
Leighton + a beanie + a puppy- a truly perfect image..... If only Chuck was standing beside her.
This picture somewhat reminds me of Kate Middleton... if Kate's style was a helllll of a lot funkier.
The other thing about this outfit that reminds me of Kate: this Tod's bag. Named the 'Di' bag after Princess Diana it is a revamp of her much loved Tod's bag this bag is a favorite of royals and celebrities alike. I have to say I like it but I am now moved to purchase it.
I want to say that this sweater is by Reiss BUT I'm not sure, regardless- I love it.
LOVE her hair. So classic and low key. Just amazing.
Annnnnnd another item to add onto my list- the Lanvin purse.
I adore how she does booties and shorts- a GREAT combination.
Kay so these Louboutins were SO big this last season. They were everywhere and were the favorite of EVERY Kardashian sisted. BUT I adore that Leighton has done them here in a nude color (rather than the more common black or purple) AND rocked them during the day. I won't lie this is the first time I've seen these shoes out in the day and of course they are on Leighton's feet and of course she rocks them to a T. Also while I'm discussing her outfit I ADORE the prints.
Again I adore these booties AND these socks.
I LOVE THESE BOOTS!
She's totally ADORABLE.

Some more Blair fashion moments
So as we all know I love, love, love Blair Waldorf. I mean obviously the clothes are immense, standard BUT I also love the character generally. Her drive for power, wealth and prestige as well as her turmoil as to her future in Manhattan. But what warms my heart currently is that this week they stepped out in nearly identical Jenny Packham dresses.... as if we needed any more confirmation that Blair truly is the princess of the small screen (Louis of no Louis). So in celebration of that royal proclamation I have decided to do another round of my favorite Blair outfits...
Pretty much my dream kiss. With a man in loafers, in colored chinos (a men's pant without color is like a day without sunshine), a pocket square (and let's just mention that it can't be a miscellaneous pocket square. Pocket squares are not a tertiary point. They are not just along for the ride and have to have a compelling connection to the rest of the outfit, if not like a good paper (or post) keep it brief and forget about it- in this case *and because Chuck's a sartorial star* he's matched his pocket square with his chinos and resultantly received two thumbs up), a sports jacket, a blue shirt (why do men ALWAYS look good in blue shirts) and no tie (there's something about no tie, when in relation to the correct outfit, that screams I have money but I didn't just come from work- there's a mystery) while I rock an AMAZINGLY bold choice of outfit and laden with shopping bags.
I love Blair's hair. Honestly making a note of this for when I go in for highlights... although it is slightly brassy.
Clashing prints- if you can pull it off. Go for it- a summer 2011 must.
Royal blue because that's just how B rolls.
Love this coat. Great fashion point that Blair ALWAYS applies without fail (and I personallylive by), if you can see your clavicle and you're in a jacket..... wear a scarf. Otherwise the outfit just does not look pulled together and you look somehow undressed.
n.b. this rule CAN apply to blazers but it is not strictly applied.
For evidence of this righteous suggestion see below...
And again clashing prints AND clashing florals (for summer 2011 floral prints are, without a doubt, THE print to clash).
Color blocking with pinks and reds VERY hard to do but something that is a big thing this summer. Joe Zee (Creative Director at Elle) is particularly pushing it. For day looks- have to be honest- not sure if it works but here I have to say I can't imagine improving on the look. I think the pink accessories keep it young and fun, essentially preventing the dress from wearing her and imposing Blair onto the dress.
Have to say the one Blair go to accessory I do not love would have to be the patterned tights. I've never been a huge fan and I've never seen them styled on her in a way that has changed my mind...
