Some more Blair fashion moments

So as we all know I love, love, love Blair Waldorf. I mean obviously the clothes are immense, standard BUT I also love the character generally. Her drive for power, wealth and prestige as well as her turmoil as to her future in Manhattan. But what warms my heart currently is that this week they stepped out in nearly identical Jenny Packham dresses.... as if we needed any more confirmation that Blair truly is the princess of the small screen (Louis of no Louis). So in celebration of that royal proclamation I have decided to do another round of my favorite Blair outfits...

Pretty much my dream kiss. With a man in loafers, in colored chinos (a men's pant without color is like a day without sunshine), a pocket square (and let's just mention that it can't be a miscellaneous pocket square. Pocket squares are not a tertiary point. They are not just along for the ride and have to have a compelling connection to the rest of the outfit, if not like a good paper (or post) keep it brief and forget about it- in this case *and because Chuck's a sartorial star* he's matched his pocket square with his chinos and resultantly received two thumbs up), a sports jacket, a blue shirt (why do men ALWAYS look good in blue shirts) and no tie (there's something about no tie, when in relation to the correct outfit, that screams I have money but I didn't just come from work- there's a mystery) while I rock an AMAZINGLY bold choice of outfit and laden with shopping bags.

I love Blair's hair. Honestly making a note of this for when I go in for highlights... although it is slightly brassy.
Clashing prints- if you can pull it off. Go for it- a summer 2011 must.
Royal blue because that's just how B rolls.
Love this coat. Great fashion point that Blair ALWAYS applies without fail (and I personallylive by), if you can see your clavicle and you're in a jacket..... wear a scarf. Otherwise the outfit just does not look pulled together and you look somehow undressed.
n.b. this rule CAN apply to blazers but it is not strictly applied.
For evidence of this righteous suggestion see below...
And again clashing prints AND clashing florals (for summer 2011 floral prints are, without a doubt, THE print to clash).
Color blocking with pinks and reds VERY hard to do but something that is a big thing this summer. Joe Zee (Creative Director at Elle) is particularly pushing it. For day looks- have to be honest- not sure if it works but here I have to say I can't imagine improving on the look. I think the pink accessories keep it young and fun, essentially preventing the dress from wearing her and imposing Blair onto the dress.
Have to say the one Blair go to accessory I do not love would have to be the patterned tights. I've never been a huge fan and I've never seen them styled on her in a way that has changed my mind...
