I have always liked but never LOVED Missoni.... that is until my peppers beheld Margherita Missoni. She is the perfect advert for the Missoni brand. I totally throw my hands up and admit that the reason I own not a single piece by Missoni is because I see it, I like it but I lack the key piece... which is understanding how to translate the individual pieces into items of everyday where. This fact is PRECISELY why she so not only deserves the title of heir BUT ambassador to the Missoni brand because she rocks the socks off their kit and she does it in a way that is but youthful and accessible and you've gots ta love that!

June 2nd 2011: Margherita and BFF (and royal consort) Tatiana Santo Domingo at 'Hogan and Big Bambu' Cocktail Party during the 54th International Art Biennale in Venice.

I love her hair (I have soooo many more inches to go) in this photo but her whole look just encompasses her refined and minimal boho aesthetic which she just does so well. I also adore when she rocks a cardi.

June 1st 2011: Margherita at the 'Il Mondo Vi Appartiene' dinner at Fondazione Cini.

Going to admit. Don't totally get the bird, other than it might potentially be the dependent of Gaia Repossi which she is temporarily caring for (more on Gaia's odd love for bird accessories in an upcoming post). I think she looks young and relaxed here. It's nice to see an heiress who dresses her age once and awhile.

May 31st 2011: Margherita attends the 'Sadie Coles and Angela Missoni dinner for Gabriel Kurt and Urs Kischer' during the 54th International Art Biennale in Venice.

Love when she does Missoni for the evening. It's always unexpected and simultaneously brill.

May 13, 2011: Margherita poses with her mother ANgela backstage ahead of the Missoni show during the Audi Fashion Festival Singapore 2011 at Tent@Orchard.

Again looking at this picture I literally want to run out the door and load my closet with Missoni. This is how the children of privilege should be dressing (ie. New York socialites please stop rocking Chanel suits.... like true heartbreak it is a dish best left to your 20s).

May 2nd 2011: Margherita at the "Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty" Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

Again I'm always intrigued when the rocks Missoni on the red carpet and although I would die for this dress it is everything that Margherita's interpretation of Missoni is: young, vibrant, relaxed and full of color. The only thing I would say was that it was unfortunate that her gown shedded like a badly groomed dog throughout the night. Looking at this picture I wasn't sure if it was her gown that was responsible for the trail of feathers; however, after studying many from that night it's clear that it is. In many images you can literally see them falling off as she walks.... not a great look.

April 11th 2011L Margherita attends the Missoni Home Luci e Ombre Cocktail Party during Milan Design Week in Milan.

LOVE the Missoni home collection. There definitely will be a post dedicated to that coming up. In the mean time though can we just exlore her use of color! (a) impeccable (b) so welcome! The girl is 28 and it's so nice to see her embrace that rather than (like many celebrities and daughters of privilege) trying to dress ad look like she's in her late 30s.

February 27th 2011: Margherita attends the Missoni fashion show, with Eugiene Niarchos, as part of Milan Fashion Week Womenswear Autumn/ Winter 2011.

So going to say I don't really adore these pieces TOGETHER buuuuuut separately they are all bomb. In particular I love the jacket (amazeballs!) and the bag. Although the dress is pretty fucking cool as well. I would also like to take this moment to introduce you all to one of Eugenie's MANY birds (you will meet the rest of the flock later).

February 25th 2011: Margherita attends the Duran Duran dinner and concert a the Teatro dal Verme as part of Milan Fashion Week Womenswear Autumn/ Winter 2011.

What can I say other than this girl embraces color and pattern like nobody I've ever seen. Although I don't have the balls to rock the ensemble I would be all over that cardi, like Madonna on a toy boy.

November 8th: Margherita with the eponymous designer Tom Ford at a Celebration of 10 YEars of IHT Luxury Conferences during the International Herald Tribune Heritage Luxury Conference at One Mayfair in London.

Love it when she does evening and this HAS to be one of my top three. Just stunning.

June 28th 2010: Margherita at the 'Italia- Minalo, 150 Anni in Salute' Charity Gala held at the Villa Necchi in Milan.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this evening wear (a) boho simplicity at its best- how to do a Mary Kate/ Wasson look without looking like a bag lady in the midst of transitioning homes. Boho does not been excessive keep it simply stupid and as long as the pieces are great your style will shine. (b) we are getting into her period of headwear. Just like the great Blair Margherita had a period of head bands too albeit due to her boho feel they were around her crown rather than a top it but regardless this was an instance in which it worked (there were a few dubious ones.... won't lie).

June 19th 2010: Margherita at 'Dolce & Gabbana: 20 Years of Menswear' during Milan Fashion Week Spring/ Summer 2011.

Probably one of the few images of her NOT in Missoni (unless I am very much mistaken, in which case PLEASE correct me) but still she rocks BOLD and CONTRASTING prints. Which interestingly enough is the current style trajectory of Spring Summer 2011. I think what we can take to this is that in a 'style trend' the core style idea taken to an aesthetic extreme (thing contrasting colors, big shoulder, tight pants). Resultantly, even when the style trend has faded you may still be able to use it without looking outdated IF you are able to distill that trend into something less extreme (i.e. taking this outfit for example the current trend would have her in a contrasting skirt and shirt in equally vibrant hues. Instead she has chosen one dominating print which constitutes the majority of the outfit and a subservient print for the accessory. If contrasting prints are a look you like this is a GREAT way to take it into fall without looking outdated).

June 18th 2010: Margherita attends the Missoni Cocktail Part at Milan Fashion Week (Mesnswer) Spring Summer 2011 in Milan Italy.

A great way to do a cropped top without looking 90s. A look I am defs going to be trying (very Leighton Meester too I feel).

June 10 2010: Margherita at the 2010 Convivo held at Fiera Milano City.

I fucking adore this. Another example of great Missoni evening wear which just is highlighted by her perfect tan (which p.s. I am SO jealous of) and those Azzedina Alaia (I'm not sure but I'd put money on it) shoes in that delicious kelly green. Yum, yum yum. And again she keeps it young and fun! You've got to love that.

I was just too amazed, I needed to get another photo for your guys.

May 20th 2010: Margherita arrives for the '2010 amfAR Cinema Against AIDS' gala held at the Hotel du Cap d'Antibes near Cannes.

(For those of you who are interested in what amfAR is.... it was founded in 1985 and dedicated to ending the global AIDS epidemic through innovative research).

ADORE when she does the long cardi! Feel like she just stepped out of Pompeii. It is just so unbelievably classic but at the same time unmistakeably fresh.

ADORE this bag and is that a tattoo?!

Not going to say I'd wear this but again at least she's playing with style and keeping it young.... I would suggest though that underwear never hurt anyone.

I just love this photo because she looks so sweet and normal. Honestly! She has such a nice smile! Pretty sure if I had to pick any of the Monaco/ Italian heirs that I could befriend..... it would be this little lady.

Adore the evening wear. Love the twenties feel and just all over the ensemble. Love it (although personally I would look like an old crazy lady with that headgear).

Love when the layers the fur over the knit. Such a great combination of textures.

I fucking love the beanie paired with the oversized sweater! Just SO chic and comfortable and just love imagining a little Missoni clad family. Too adorable for words.

Margherita with Teresa Missoni. Just love their outfits, everything about them. The textures the fur. It's fucking amazing. Hate to say this but I am ALL over Teresa's in particular.

Love how Teresa does the dark lips. Still a simple but a nice change from Margherita's totally fresh faced look.

Teresa is undoubtedly the queen of layering in my book. I love how she does it with different colors, textures, lengths. It's perfect and a different interpretation of Margherita's (and arguably the Missoni clan's take) on boho style.
